Wow – what an amazing day at Sandhole Oak Barn for Carly and Ian’s wedding! I’ve had a LOT of fun with these guys since I met them last year (flaming cocktails anyone?!) and I always knew that their day was going to be something special. They just wanted to have a great time celebrating with their friends and family and get some great images along the way. I was lucky enough to be working with my great friends Annette and Rene from Top Table Catering (thank you so much for looking after so well as always ladies!) and it’s always great fun to work with the BEST wedding band out there – The Coolers.

I had a great morning with Caz & Darren last week, meandering our way around the grounds of Quarry Bank Mill and shooting some amazing stuff. They’re getting married at The Belle Epoque in Knutsford in a few weeks time and I know it’s going to be the most amazing day!

What a glorious day today!  You’ve got to love the great British weather – you never know what it’s going to do and today it surprised us by being sunny, warm, beautiful – love it!  I met up with Hannah & Ian at Alderley Edge for a wander round the forest to shoot some pre-wedding images.  I’m pretty sure they won’t mind me telling you that they were slightly apprehensive about what lay in store, which I guess is one of the main points of the pre-wedding shoot – get those feelings out their system, so that on their big day they know I’m not going to have them doing things they’re uncomfortable with, that make them feel awkward – they’re going to be totally relaxed and trusting in me that we’ll shoot the most beautiful set of images for them.

Hannah & Ian were amazing this morning – I didn’t actually believe that they were apprehensive about the shoot because they looked so damn good through the lens!  I’m sure you’ll agree…

How amazing do Hannah & Ian look?!?!  I really can’t wait for their big day at Heaton House Farm now – it’s going to be awesome!

Thursday was a VERY exciting day… It was Selina & Mike’s wedding (AMAZING couple!) AND it was my first time photographing a wedding at the gorgeous Heaton House Farm in Rushton Spencer – I couldn’t wait! I’ve been lucky enough to get to know the Heath family who own Heaton House Farm over the last couple of months in the run up to Selina & Mike’s big day, so when I arrived on Thursday morning I felt like I was arriving at a venue I’d worked at loads of times before!

So here we go, a sneak preview of some of my favourite’s from Selina & Mike’s Heaton House Farm Wedding!

Zoe & Mark are an awesome couple – great fun to be around and getting married at one of my absolutely favourite venues, the stunning Styal Lodge in Cheshire. Another glorious winter wedding! OK, so it was a bit chilly, but the sun was out, the sky was blue – it was a stunning day! And talking of stunning – how depressingly gorgeous are Chrissie & Louis? And bloody lovely with it too! And two gorgeous daughters! And gorgeous families and friends – it was a beauty of a wedding!

I’d been looking forward to this wedding for a long time. I’m really lucky in that I get to work with clients who really value everything about their wedding day – their friends and family all being together in a great venue, great atmosphere, great entertainment, great photography. I got on with Chrissie & Louis from the first minute I met them and with some couples you really do get a sense of how much fun their big day is going to be straight away. I was also getting to work with some of my lovely wedding friends which is always a bonus too!

So…on with the preview – I met Chrissie in the morning at her house in West Didsbury just round the corner from ours – I could have walked it if I wasn’t so lazy

I love a good winter pre-wedding shoot – the light, the atmosphere, the going for a drink afterwards to warm up (!) – it’s a great time of year to shoot!  I met up with Bex and Matt yesterday in Lytham St Anne’s for their pre-wedding shoot and I knew it was going to be a good one.  It’s not the first time I’ve shot them you see…  If memory serves me correctly, I think this was actually the 6th time I’ve shot them!  Two family shoots for Matt’s family, once for Matt’s business and they’ve been involved in two gorgeous weddings I shot last year – Jordana & Ben’s and Catherine & Richard’s.  I love it when you really get to know families and their friends.  I’m sooooooo excited about Bex & Matt’s wedding, it’s going to be amazing, a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to seeing all their friends and family again!  And as an added bonus, I get to work with my lovely friends from Flower Design and Rowley’s Catering!  Score!

So…I met up with Bex & Matt and we headed for the beach by the pier at St Anne’s…

It was FREEZING out there, but the light was just beautiful and we had a great laugh.  I really am dying for their day to come around now – can’t wait!

Helen and Graeme had the PERFECT winter’s wedding day! Sunny, crisp, cold – spectacular! I started off meeting Helen and her family at her Mum and Dad’s house in the morning…

On to the church…

I love this bit!  This is when the vicar realised that he’d locked the door Helen was supposed to be making her entrance through!  And had to leg it back through another door to let us in – I do love a sprinting vicar!

The speeches were ace!

Helen and Graeme really wanted to use this particular area of the bar for a couple of group shots with their friends and bridal party, but knew that it would be impossible during the drinks reception as the bar was going to be completely full of all their guests, so we wouldn’t be able to access it.  So we did these couple of group shots inbetween the starter and main course of the wedding breakfast.  Great idea – all the people involved in the photos knew that they were required at that particular time, I set the area up while they ate their starters and we had them in and out in a few seconds with nobody in the main room even noticing.  Proof that you don’t always have to do things a ‘certain way’ – it’s so important that every bride and groom does what is right for them on their big day.
